It's a backyard bocce tournament of epic proportions, with over 200 teams battling it out, year after year, for the prestigious title of Backyard Bocce Champs. Every Labor Day, Bocce troupes travel from all across the land to Toluca, IL in an annual pilgrimage dating back to 1948. Never heard of Toluca? Fret not fellow bocce Brigader. Not until just recently did I become aware of the Midwest's best kept secret. And now I have the pleasure of sharing it with you.

Penn State Croquet Club: Silly Mustaches, Serious Fun

They like denim shorts—fake mustaches—and croquet. They are Penn State University Club Croquet, a new club sport on the State College campus. Founded by John Bauer, J.J. Hue and Kevin Hulbert, Club Croquet seems as much about socializing and making friends as actually putting mallets to use. In an interview with Paige Blawas of “Onward State,” the founding members explain their motivations behind forming Club Croquet. They also discuss how the club has been received by the campus community, as well as their plans for the future.
